C-Span is a network of three American cable channels intended for continuous and direct coverage of government interventions (Presidency and Congress of the United States) as well as for the broadcasting of programs relating to public affairs1.

C-Span has been broadcasting sessions of the Parliament of Canada since 1983. On several occasions, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has covered Canadian events on C-SPAN, such as the Canadian federal elections.
