Yle TV2 is the name of the second channel of the Finnish public television group Yle . Launched on January 1, 1966 under the name TV Ohjelma 2 (“Program TV 2”) with the three VHF transmitters of the former commercial chain “Oy Tesvisio AB” created in 1961 in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku, it has developed its network in UHF throughout the country in the 1970s. Previously a somewhat elitist and classic channel, since its redesign in March 2012 it has offered musical, youth and sports programs. Its slogan, yllätä itsesi , means “surprise yourself”.
