Telecaribe is an open Colombian television channel broadcasting in the Caribbean region of this country. It was founded on April 28, 1986 in Valledupar and began permanent transmissions from that day on from its broadcasting center located in the town of Barranquilla. On October 10 of the same year, it was released with the first official programming granted to production companies, mainly in the capitals of the 7 coastal departments. Telecaribe was preceded by an experimental channel called Televallenato, which is why it is known as the first regional channel in Colombia.
