Fiji One is a television channel of the Fiji Television network dating from 1994 .
In 1987, Fiji One was the only public television channel in the region. In 2007, this monopoly was broken.
In 1999, Fiji Television risks losing the exploitation of Fiji One following the diffusion of an interview with the general of army Ratu Epeli Nailatikau on electoral subjects, the contract of diffusion with the State prohibiting then the interventions of the members government on air.
In 2002, Senator Tomasi Kanailagi (and former president of the Methodist Church) described Fiji One as “an agent of the devil, plotting against Christendom and the natives of the country”.
